Which I found browsing !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! ’s website (yes the FP article might have something to do with it).

Hopefully you clicked the link and figured out this picture is from there.
As you can tell it’s to the Bond Aston as what !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! is to !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! .

Again, if you clicked the link you’d know that this picture is from the David Brown-supplied press kit The Petersen put up on their website.
It’s three quarters of a million dollars - yes, you can buy more than one current Aston Martin for the price - and for exactly that reason, it’s woefully underpowered and agonizingly slow.
Yes, it’s still the same source.
It’s got a 5.0 V8 putting out just a little over 500 HP putting the car from 0-60 in 4.6 seconds and with a top speed (presumably governed) to 155 MPH. Or about the same as an Audi A6. Not even an S6, just the standard A6 with the 3.0 six-pot.
There is no reason why a car that costs more than two F12 Berlinettas put together should be capable of more. Even the Charger Hellcat and its brick-like aerodynamics flirts with 200 MPH. I get that it’s mostly a car about its own style but at that price why not put in some more performance to go along with it?

So, is the only measure of a car its power rating?

Yes.

Because that would require hard work and it is much easier to buy a new Jaguar XKR as a base for your Aston Martin DB5 body kit and then sell it on for a big profit.
Performance is irrelevant when it comes to cars like this. It is all about the craftsmanship something that car is sorely lacking compared to the Eagle Speedster or the Peterson Blower Bentley.
If you want to modernise a design with a Jag as a base, this should be the result not that waste of space.
In case I haven’t made it clear, I hate the Speedback GT.

I’m confused.
Why not just buy this and an F-Type coupe?
